World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world.

In support of the World Asthma Day 2019: STOP for asthma!, the Hong Kong Asthma Society (HKAS) hosted a large-scale community event at the piazza of Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 28 April 2019. Together with HKAS and different supporting organizations, PRAISE-HK set up a game booth at the event to raise awareness on asthma and its intimate relation with air pollution.

Over 500 children, parents and seniors visited our booth and learnt about the air pollutants commonly found in our city. With the assistance of our PRAISE-HK Student Ambassador, participants tried the PRAISE-HK App and understood how they can access air quality information on the app. Our task leader, Prof. Jimmy Fung also met the medical professionals and organizations at the event for future collaborations.
