On the 8th April 2022, PRAISE-HK team delivered a Zoom talk on air pollution and chronic allergies to the members of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (Lam Tin Centre).

Participants of the event are parents living in Kowloon East and have children suffering from allergic conditions, including asthma and nasal allergy. By gaining the knowledge about air pollution as a dominating allergen and the variation of air pollution distribution in different micro-environments, participants were intrigued to learn about how PRAISE-HK-EXP app could “visualise” the air pollutants in their living area on their palm, and more, helping them making daily decisions to minimize personal exposure to air pollution.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were glad to have such opportunity to get together the people among the community, strengthen their understanding of air pollution and introduce PRAISE-HK-EXP app to them. Among the feedback from the participants, the majority found the event informative and helpful for them to minimize the health impact of air pollution in their daily life.
